VBoard meeting, 12/11/2013

Agenda

1. We need to discuss several important issues relating to our PAC status. We are not meeting the minimum receipts/expenses that would require submission from 4-8 times per year. The alternate is we become just a Club without PAC status. This would mean that any political contributions would have to be under $1000/year or we can contribute thru DPSFV Act-Blue site.

2. If we go for the above we would:

a) Solve our problem with Durkee leftover accounting and

b) Need to close current bank account & open a new account

c) Decide if we continue to affiliate with LACDP.

3. We need to begin thinking about who will be MC's at 2014 meetings, or who will help with partial presentations.

Agi & I will not be available for the January meeting and need someone to that the lead for this meeting. I can help if needed until Jan 15. Please let me know who is available for Jan as well as for any of the upcoming meetings. I expect most of you to take on the MC role at least once.

4. All of you should have signed up to attend the DPSFV Truman award dinner this Saturday. Sign up by going to DPSFV.com...VGFD has at least one table so you will be among friends. Our VGFD Award is going to Tauby Ross...she would appreciate your support.

5. This meeting should be an open and honest meeting about what VGFD should be doing in 2014, from our community activities to support at the DPSFV HQ as a minimum.

Of course there are many changes and issues we need to support...seems like they are increasing faster than we can plan to take action. We do need to support the ACA as well as all Democrats running in the 2014 races..after that there is no problem expanding areas for effort.
